GAMEPLAY NOTES #2
This is a scan of the notebook I use to play. (These are some encounters from around this time in the story, some of which are referenced.) I draw combat maps, keep track of combat, and describe in game terms what the characters are doing; if some dialog or story ideas come to me, I write these down too, but I try not to feel obligated to do this—and I often don’t use and/or heavily revise what comes out. Aside from writing and rolling dice, I spend a lot of time consulting rule books and reading and rereading the guidelines in Mysteries of the Moonsea. The skeletal adventure arcs in that campaign guide are perfect for this project—substantial enough to provide compelling friction, but thin enough for adaptation.
